As a Phillies Phan any team that dares to challenge the Phillies are in for a big shock once we beat their teams up to smithereens. so I say there's no way other team can beat Phillies now.

Consider the fact that at the major league level there isn't much that separates the contenders from the pretenders. Even more important is the fact that the 8 teams in this years playoffs have the talent to win it all. Right now the Phillies have to be the odds on favorites just by the way they are playing compared the the other 7 teams.

Once the playoffs start, all teams win-loss records are 0-0. The Braves, having played the Phillies more than the rest of the playoffs teams have a better chance of beating the Phillies. They know the Phillies much better than the rest. Other than that, teams will be hard pressed to beat them.

Call me a homer but I think the only teams capable of beating the Phillies in a 7 game series is the Yankees. The problem with the Yankees is that their pitching have been less than average. Their lineup hasn't been hitting at it's best either. Unless things improve in New York, the Phillies have to be "the team to best".

Sure, any team can get hot ,either pitching and hitting and beat another team.

The Phillie's, especially with Halliday will be very tough.

Whoever emerges from the AL is the team with the best shot.

The only other team with a chance is the winner of the Braves-Giants series.

The Reds are done.

Yes. Just as they got hot, they could go cold. And that goes for all the teams. If you go cold at the wrong time (playoffs), there is no room to make it up.

Any team in the playoffs can beat them once or twice, but I don't think there is a team that can beat them in a best of five or best of seven series. To win a series against the Phillies a team will probably have to beat Halladay or Oswalt twice, and I don't see it happening. It's not impossible, but it's not very likely either.

The Phillies are hot right now, and playing their best. Even their backups are playing some very good baseball. Everything seems to be going well for them. The Phillies are the only team that can beat the Phillies right now, and if they don't make a lot of mistakes they can roll through the post-season without even breathing hard.

For the 936th time, yes.

This question has been asked several times per day for the past three weeks or so. Yes, any team in the playoffs has a shot to win its league and the World Series.

The Phillies were the best team in the NL in the regular season, but there are no guarantees in the playoffs. According to a recent ESPN article that I read, the #1 seed in the playoffs only wins its league about 33% of the time. That's certainly better than the 25% chance they'd have if every team were equal, but it still means there's a 2/3 chance that they won't win.

If two or three players get hot for a couple of games, that could alter the outcome of a playoff series. Likewise, if an ace pitcher has a bad game, a good team could fall. There are too many unknowns in the playoffs for anyone to be able to declare the Phillies winners.

Just watch and enjoy the games!

The Giants definitely can. To be honest anyone potentially could, but I see them having an edge against any team they play, even the Giants.
