Avi Creditor: Guzan sees early returns from Hull City loan, more Americans Abroad
The mounds of snow that blanketed Europe over the last few weeks brought an earlier start than expected to a few leagues’ respective winter breaks and forced the postponement of numerous matches, but they hardly prevented one American soccer player from receiving the gift of much-needed playing time.

Collectors of Baseball items in Houston and Kansas City, Kansas

I am a collector of baseballs. Right now I have 28 of the 30 MLB from the cities where the balls are from (I.E. Anaheim Angels ball from Anaheim or Nationals Ball from D.C.). I have been collecting balls now for seven year and just need two more. The two balls are the Kansas City Royals and the Houston Astros. If someone in the greater Kansas City area and or the greater Houston Area could send me a ball with the team logo on it; I would be more then happy to send you a ball from the Philadelphia Phillies (my area) or something of equal value from the greater Philadelphia area.
Thank you.

Nick.

I could easily buy a NL or AL set of balls at a sports store, but to make the hobby fun I have made the balls from the city the team are from. I normally travel to the cities on business or sometime for a game. It what make the hobby fun. I just collect the balls that are at sport store or at the stadium in the cities. When I lived in South Korea and Japan I bought baseballs there too. All my baseballs are in cases in my house (Four case; one for Asia, one for the U.S., one for Autographed, one for Phillies, and one for Minor League League Baseballs). THE BASEBALLS I COLLECT ARE NORMALLY TEAM COLORS OR SIMPLY WHITE BASEBALLS WITH THE TEAM LOGO. They are not game used or anything special, except they are from the city the team is from.

Is anyone else surprised by the NY media’s offensive comments about Philadelphia – the city and the fans?

I’ve been getting some emails forwarded to me with links (which I’ll provide) openly blasting the city of Philadelphia as well as the fans.

It’s one thing for fans of the opposing team to make outrageous comments or be belligerent, but it’s quite another for “respected” journalists and the sort to make these kinds of belittling comments. Did this shock anyone else?

Who else is not surprised that Philadelphia was rated America’s most depressed city?

I’m not. I went to school there back in 1994 and ’95. I didn’t care too much for it. For one thing, the people back there were super rude, boisterous, obnoxious, and spiteful. Not all of them, but a lot of them were. I found that to be true about that whole North Atlantic corridor actually, but especially New York, Boston, and Philadelphia. I can tell you right now there isn’t much brotherly love in Philadelphia. There might have been back during 1776, but I imagine things were different then. Most of the city I’d seen looked run-down and decrepit like the Blitzkrieg plowed right through it. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out that city needs some extreme major urban renewal. I’m glad for their sake that The Phillies won The World Series, because I think that city could use a major lift to its aura. Tell me what you think. Do you think there will ever come a day when I won’t have to refer to it as Filthadelphia.
Somebody answer damn it!!
Actually, I am used to being in a big city. I grew up in Houston. I also lived in L.A. for awhile. I’m used to being in a city full of transplants where half the people are from elsewhere. I’ll tell you one thing. I’m not used to living someplace where it’s bonechilling cold during the wintertime.
Here’s my source right here.

Actually I’m from the West. You need to get your geography right lady. I’ve also lived in New York, San Francisco, and Virginia. Virginia is the only Southern State I lived in and that was for a year-and-a-half when I was in the military.

If the Phillies wins the World Series – Will the fans ”burn down” the city? Or loot?

I can see it coming. Anyone who lives in the Philly area and saw how animated fans were when they got to the WS, you know what I’m talking about. People were climbing street polls and out in the street into the middle of the morning. It’s all been contained though. The Philadelphia Police Department’s done a good job. There’s only so much they can do if people get that out of control though.

I’m sure there’s one side of Michael Nutter that wouldn’t mind seeing the Phillies lose. Even if it was depressing. Either way, there could be major chaos. This rain is just delaying it.
